Childbirth Classes

Our childbirth classes take place at the Maternity Unit at Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center. They include everything from what to expect during labor and delivery to caring for your newborn. The more you understand about the process of labor, the better prepared you and your support partner will feel.

Breastfeeding Classes

Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center supports and encourages breastfeeding as the preferred method of providing nutrition to infants. All Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, and Pediatric nurses are trained to assist you with breastfeeding in the hospital. In addition, an International Board Certified Lactation consultant (IBCLC) is available to assist you in the hospital for challenging situations.

Hackensack Meridian Health Palisades Medical Center offers classes that cover the advantages of breastfeeding, getting off to a good start in the hospital, techniques that work, positions that are comfortable, signs of adequate infant intake, returning to work, collection and storage of breast milk, and correct use of pumping equipment.
